How It Works

How the Contracted
Feed Service Works

From first conversation to fresh feed on your farm. Seven steps, one contract, and a clear line between what you provide and what Green2Gro provides.

Seven Steps From
Proposal to Feed

01
Discuss Your Herd or Flock
We talk through your species, herd or flock size, current feed costs and goals for the operation.
02
Receive a Proposal and Contract
You receive a clear proposal and service contract covering feed volumes, pricing and installation scope.
03
Centrafin Credit Assessment
Centrafin, our approved funding partner, assesses affordability for your farm as part of the application.
04
Municipal Approvals and Site Development Plan
The client manages the municipal approvals (if required) and Green2Gro supplies a Site Development Plan (SDP) required for the installation.
05
Installation
Green2Gro installs the complete system on your farm, including the climate-controlled multi-tier aeroponic CEA Chamber (a Controlled Environment Agriculture unit), network connection, fencing, civils, slab and silos.
06
Daily Production and Farmer Labour
Fresh feed is produced on your farm every day. The role takes about an hour a day, and Green2Gro trains, certifies and compensates the farmers for labour supplied.
07
You Feed Your Animals, and Pay Centrafin Monthly
You feed the fresh sprouts to your herd or flock and pay one simple monthly fee to Centrafin.

Enzyme-Rich

What Sprouting Does to the Seed

90–95%
Digestibility, up from ~30% dry seed
21%
Protein content, up from ~8%
620%
Biomass increase within 8 days
6–8
Days to fresh, ready-to-feed sprouts

Sources: the 21% protein figure comes from independent lab testing of Green2Gro's own sprouted fodder at the University of Pretoria. The wider digestibility, protein and biomass figures are consistent with published international fodder research, including trials at the University of Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station. Fodder is harvested within this early window because nutrient content peaks shortly after germination and declines steadily as the grass matures.

The Complete Facility, To Scale

Everything Green2Gro installs on your farm, laid out to scale: the climate-controlled multi-tier aeroponic CEA Chamber, control room, water storage, ground-mounted solar array and secure fencing.

Each Green2Gro unit is a climate-controlled CEA Chamber fitted with multi-tier racks and an automated aeroponic misting system. Multi-tier racking maximises growing area, automated aeroponic misting delivers precise water and nutrients, and full climate control keeps daily production consistent year-round.

A Clear Split of Responsibilities

Green2Gro supplies and manages nearly everything. Here is exactly where the line sits.

You Provide

  • Water to SABS drinking water standard (approximately 1.2 litres per kg of fresh feed produced)
  • A grid connection where possible, with backup power for outages
  • Daily labour, about an hour a day per unit, 7 days a week, contracted to Green2Gro to operate the CEA Chamber
  • Own labour to collect and feed the sprouts to your animals
  • Municipal building permission, if required

Green2Gro Provides

  • Complete turnkey installation of the multi-tier aeroponic CEA Chamber(s), approximately 10 × 6.5m per unit
  • Solar power system
  • Network and data connection
  • Fencing
  • Civil works and concrete slab
  • Water tanks and seed silos
  • Seed, daily production, maintenance and monitoring
  • A 100% uptime guarantee on every installation
  • Farmer Portal: a live scorecard of system performance, resource use and production data
  • The full 72-month Centrafin-funded contract

There is no minimum herd or flock size. Green2Gro installs enough CEA Chambers to match your stock numbers: each unit produces 1,296 kg of fresh feed per day for layers, broilers and pigs, or 1,000 kg per day for dairy, beef, sheep, goats and game.

What Happens After 72 Months?

When the funding term ends, you choose what happens next. There is no automatic renewal and no surprise.

Own It Outright

Make one further monthly payment after the 72nd, and the CEA Chamber becomes yours.

Hand It Back

End the contract and Centrafin takes the CEA Chamber back. No further payments or obligations.

Renew the Contract

Sign on for another 72-month term and keep the daily service running exactly as it has.

You can cancel before the 72 months are up, but the remaining term becomes payable. If you sell the farm, the contract is transferable to the new owner, subject to Centrafin's vetting and approval. If the new owner does not qualify, the remaining term becomes payable.
